* Price is based on average national prices for regular
gasoline at the time. Users of higher octane gasoline will pay an additional
premium on prices quoted. Also, fuel prices are forecasted to go
up over the course of 2006. Both of these factors could add substantially
to your estimated savings.
Tips for Calculating Weekly Average Fuel Purchase:
- When estimating weekly fuel purchases also allow for those longer trips (vacations, Thanksgiving to family gatherings, etc.) and extra fill-ups for non-regular driving needs (e.g. out-of-town excursions, weekends to the cottage). This can add 10% to 20% to many households driving and fuel costs.
- If you often fill up more frequently than once a week, be sure to add to your average fill-up amount.
